Charter Bus to UpTown Waterloo Holiday Open House

Join your Eastbridge neighbours on December 12th for holiday shopping, dining and enjoying the events of the UpTown Waterloo Holiday Open House. The carpool will leave Lester B. Pearson Public School at 1:00 pm and return from UpTown at 5:00 pm. Enjoy the holiday celebrations in UpTown while supporting local businesses and shopping for unique gifts. There will be UpTown Dollar giveaways and other gifts compliments of the UpTown Waterloo BIA and the Region of Waterloo's ION project. With the bus you won't need to worry about parking and can enjoy some camaraderie with your neighbours!

Join us for some spooky fun at the Eastbridge Neighbourhood Halloween party at St. Luke's school on October 24th from 6:00-7:30 pm! $3.00 per person or $7.00 per family!

Costume parade times: 6:15 pm – 0-3 year olds 6:30 pm – 4-7 year olds 6:45 pm – 8-12 year olds 7:00 pm – 13 & over

Cosmic Bowling Adult Event

Join us March 28th from 8 to 10pm for Cosmic Bowling in Elmira. As a result of our survey, for our first Eastbridge Neighbourhood Association Adult Event, we will be going Cosmic Bowling that evening, from 8-10 p.m! Elmira Bowling Lanes is licensed, and food is available for purchase. We have booked the whole building, so come and join us for 5-pin fun, new friends, and door prizes. Spread the word to your Eastbridge neighbours and build your teams, or come alone and meet new friends! If bowling's not your thing, you're still welcome to come and socialize! The cost for bowlers is $15/person which includes 2 hours of bowling and bowling shoes. For directions, please visit their website at


To sign up for this event, please send an email to, or to with your name, your street address, and if you're bringing a guest. If you wish to register a team, (maximum 6/lane) please submit all of the names to ensure that we book all of you in the same lane. We will also have a sign-up at the Family Skate event at RIM Park on March 15th. As the lanes are limited to a total of 48 bowlers, early signup is encouraged.

The Eastbridge Neighbourhood Association, in conjunction with Waterloo Sports Medicine, are excited to once again bring you “The Eastbridge Neighbourhood Chase.” Some new and exciting changes are planned, and will surely have everyone eager and ready to join in this fun-filled morning of exercise, quality family time and neighbourhood camaraderie.

Registration officially opened on Sunday, June 1st. As always, registration forms can be found on our website, at the Waterloo Sports Medicine Clinic and in this newsletter.

This year we will be able to offer an online payment option as well as the usual cash/cheque option. All children 13 and under (in your immediate family) will be free with two paid adult entry fees.

Note: parents or guardians are required to supervise children 10 and under and sign the registration form. The adult entry fee remains at $15 with a shirt $5 without. We will get all this information, in detail, posted on our website and Facebook in the very near future. This year, all children 13 and under will be rewarded for participating.

Election meetings in October!

Waterloo's Voter Support Committee is hosting several meetings in the next few weeks to give you the opportunity to ask candidates in the upcoming election questions, hear their input and all about their platforms. Each meeting will be moderated and will for sure be interesting and informative.

Mayor Candidates Meeting, October 6 at 7pm in the Riviera Room RIM Park (upstairs~).

The Regional Councillor Meeting will be Monday, October 20 at the Rec Centre

and our

Ward 4 Councillor Meeting will be Tuesday, October 21 once more at RIM.

Wednesday October 22 will be the Public School Board Trustee Meeting at RIM

and a second Mayor Candidates Meeting will be held on Thursday, October 23 at the Rec Centre.

These meetings are put together by a group of volunteers to assist in giving folks an opportunity to hear what the candidates have to say and I urge you to come out and take part!
